ALT levels I got Maddie spayed yesterday and had the routine blood work done. Her ALT level was 94 when it is suppose to be in the range of 8-75. The vet wants her back in a month to recheck it. Could this be an early sign of a liver shunt? Anyone else have any inputs on ALT levels? I don't know how much to worry... |
The vet spayed her with a high ALT without bile acids testing first? Something may be off with her liver. Whether it is LS or not is very hard to say. If it makes you feel any better though, that is still very, very low for being high. |

They used different anesthesia and all meds that were "liver friendly"... |

I hope Maddie's retest comes back normal. Cali's ALT was high and they did a Bile Acid test but she was also sick a lot. She did end up having a ultrasound and liver biopsy when spayed and has very mild MVD (internal shunt) that requires no treatment. So hopefully Maddie will be just fine. |
