Rimadyl warning Another class action lawsuit is being considered against Pfizer, the makers of Rimadyl. My friend participated in the last lawsuit after Rimadyl caused her dog to bleed to death internally not long after she started taking the medicine. Yet, to this day veterinarians do not pass the warning on to patients! This drug scares me so much. Please, research this medicine before giving it to your pets. The Senior Dogs Project |

Wow - this goes back to 2000...it is really scary when you read this article...I wonder if anything is safe.:( Thanks for posting this. |
Rimadyl seems to have a bit of a higher reaction rate than other NSAIDs, but in some cases it needs to be used. Then there are people who says all NSAID just have too many side effects. Problem there is they are great for pain control and depending on the situation, it may be kind of questionable to use something else just because pain issues are quality of life issues. If you aren't comfortable with Rimadyl, there are a few other NSAIDs to choose from. :) |
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! I just finished this medication!!!! UGH!!! I'm mad! I actually stopped before one whole pill was consumed....garbage now. :( -Viv |
I used oral suspension Metacam in lieu of Rimadyl at the suggestion of our vet because of bleeding potential |
OMG, My Hope was prescribed Rymadyl for artritus after they decided the metacam was no longer working, her tummy became destended and her breathing laboured. She was eventually PTS due to her organs slowley failing. We're not given any information like this in the U.K. Vets just prescibe medication without telling clients anything like this. Time to start asking more questions. |
