Izze's food What kind of dog food would you recommend for my Izze? She is 9 years old---I've been homecooking for her, but I think that it might be best to put her on kibble since she'll probably be getting a more well rounded meal. Also, if I ever run late next year (when I start work--i'm in school) a puppysitter could always easily give her kibble. So what would you recommend? I am looking at Innova, solid gold, wellness, and california natural. Also, what protein content should I be looking for for a small dog? btw, Izze is a rescue--I got her about 1.5 years ago...so it won't be the first time that she is on kibble. She is really not a fussy eater and will suck up anything. |
If you could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. I love Izze and just want her to have the best. |
I would recommend Orijen Or Acana:thumbup: both are made by the same company they are both great foods I feed Polo Orijen and Acana mixed together he loves it and gobbles it down everytime. Orijen won Pet Food Of The Year 2009 and gets six stars on this website Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble Acana is great too it is lower in Protein at 33% compared to Orijen 40% protien here is the website Champion Petfoods | Home |
Taste of the wild is super premium class food :) Also- Orijen,Canidae is good foods. But when you will change food remember- that you will have to increase again the amount of food, reducing the old.10 days until the whole move to the new. |
Jackson loves loves loves Nature's Variety Instinct (Turkey & Duck flavor the best). I'd highly recommend it! And he's a picky eater. It's grain-free and got great ingredients. The protein is a bit on the higher spectrum at 35% but not quite as high as some of the other grain free's out there. If she's not too active though, I would recommend the Prairie line. |

Royal Canin's yorkie formula is only 28%. That is what I feed. I am no expert but have read that yhorkies cannot handle that much protein, it is hard on the liver. |

Thank you all. So, I should aim for 28%? I guess that I should do a little more research on all these brands! Thank you for the recommendations |
