best yorkie food hello yorkie friends just wondering what you all feed your babies what type of food i just brought my baby boy some NATURES BALANCE :thumbup:he was eating SCIENCE DIET:thumbdown: this is what the VET ORDERED but i dont like the ingredients thats comes in the food he havent ate the food yet how should i change the food ? thanks friends |
Feeding Fur baby I feed my Yorkie Wellness Small Breed Formula, she loves it just dry and plain. |
Mine love Merricks Dry food... Especially Merricks Before Grain (Chicken) So far its been great for my dogs.. no problems at all. Its a very good food. |
It seems all vets want to give science diet. I try to home cook as much as possible, but I feed Eukanuba when I don't have time. Some people here don't like Eukanuba, but I don't have any problem with it. |
I am feeding the "kids" Natural Balance dry (no fish meals ingredients) and Merrick canned. Usually rates fairly high. Do a search on YT for more food threads/posts. There's scores of them, some can get very "lively":D. |
I just switched over to premade raw mediallions from NV and I am so glad. My girl is doing very well on it and I can sure tell the different in her hair, it's so shiny and silky looking. As well as she only poops about once per day and it's very small. |
I feed mine Life's Abundance  |
I feed Polo Orijen Adult Kibble. He loves it and devours it like its chicken:D |
I feed Miracle Natural Balance Potatoe and Duck and Rebel gets Chicken Soup for the puppy lovers soul hard food and Blue Buffalo soft. |
My girls all get the Life's Abundance kibble and canned! :) |
I cook all of Bently's food. Chicken, rice, yellow squash, carrots and sweet potatoes. After it's cooked I grind up two multi-vitamins and mix it up. He loves it............. |
My puppies eat the Wellness canned puppy and the Wellness kibble - which I still have to soak in water because they are so small and Sebi just got his front teeth a few days ago. My two older girls (both 2 y/o) eat the Natural Balance and it is the first food that I have tried that they both LOVE. I finally have my girls totally on dog food whereas before I would sometimes cook for them just to get them to eat a good meal. They gobble up the NB like it's going out of style. I was going to put the babies on the NB too, but the kibble is really large, more like a wafer, and they don't make a puppy formula. I understand the other is fine for puppies, but I decided to start with the Wellness and switch them over to the NB when they are older. |
I don't know that you'll find an answer as to which is "best," but you'll find a lot of good opinions :) Stella came to me on Royal Canin, which she LOVED, but I wasn't crazy about it because it made her itchy/dandruffy. So once she was about 5 months and had most of her big girl teeth, I changed her over to Natural Balance small bites and she really didn't like that unless I smothered it in Innova or Wellness wet food. I was talking to the guy at Luke's and apparently it's a fairly bland food so not all dogs will eat it (which I investigated myself by sticking my head in the bag...it doesn't really smell like much...lol!). Now I have her on Taste of the Wild Wetlands and she likes that a lot, although it doesn't come in small bites and apparently it has ethoxyquin used to preserve the fish in it...so I'm sure we'll be switching again soon, but at least for now she's eating by herself. The guy at Luke's also gave us like 6 or 7 samples to try and so far she LOVED the innova dry food (so much so that I've been using it as training treats!), so I think we might switch to that when she's a little older and it's cooler out so she can work off the protein. My best advice wouldn't be a particular food but rather to try a few samples (there's a sticky in the nutrition section with addresses you can write to for free samples) before you buy food you want your baby to like. |
