Cool way to make chewing a Chewzie or hidelike chew safer! My sister gave me this great idea when I switched from bully sticks to Chewzies. I was nervous Eva would choke, or get clogged intestines on the little pieces she sometimes pulled off. So my sister suggested having scissors nearby and just trimming the soft stuff off every so often as Eva chews it. It works so well and I just hand it back to Eva and she just works at it some more but never really gets anything off. I feel much better about giving them to her and she still gets to have her favorite treat. |
Great tip, thanks! :D |
I second that Ann :D xx |
Just wondering what is a Chewzie? |
Brilliant Minds Think Alike! I do the same thing. Works great! No Worries! |
Chewies Belle loves her chewies. I don't know if every one calls them the same thing or not. Belle's chewies are bigger size pieces of rawhide. I do the same with them when they start to get soft, cut that part off. I have read both good and bad about rawhide but if it weren't for rawhide to chew on I'm not sure I would have any pillows, blankets or furniture left! Belle has been chewing them since she was 12 weeks and she will be a year old in a couple weeks. They are really good for keeping teeth clean.:animal36 |
Darlene, they are flat pieces of rawhide. A popular brand is Purina's Chew-Ez that come in a box like milkbone cookies. |
