What shampoo do you use? I have noticed that Padme looks greasy. I bathe her about once a week or once every 10 days and I have been using Hydrosurge with Oatmeal. I also use conditioner. Am I bathing her too much? Should I use conditioner everytime? I brush her everyday and use pet wipes for in between baths. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it..Have a great day!!! |
if she's greasy looking you may not be getting all the conditioner out. personally i don't use conditioner on morgan because it makes her head look greasy after a day. i bath her every week with espree shampoo. |
I use Pet Silk and Espree and sometimes minksheen. Pixie is silky coated so I can't use a conditioner on her or she looks greasy. My cottony coated ones need the condtioner. |
I use Bio Groom Oatmeal. I don't use conditioner on the silky coats because they do look greasy after few days. |
Padme is very silky so it must be the conditioner. I will use one of the shampoos that you guys mentioned. Thanks so much :) |
I bought Lexi shampoo called Yorkie Splash made exclusive for Yorkies she too gets very greasy looking on her head and face area. This shampoo is wonderful and she doesn't look greasy anymore at all. Its yorkies of walnut hill....website www.yorkiesofwalnuthill.com I think that's right :D Hugs Cheryl & Lexi |
I use ESPREE, Color Enhansing Shampoo & Luxury Remoisturizer. MinkSheen is also very nice. |
I use Earthbath Puppy Shampoo and the conditioner. It's gentle enough to use every week and the conditioner is very moisturizing. I know there are a lot of shampoos specially designed for yorkies or other breeds with hair instead of fur, but I haven't tried them. |
human shampoo works best for me it called bed head. |
Be careful with any type of human shampoo, it has a very different pH than dogs need. |
We use Cloudstar Buddy Wash and Buddy Rinse and it is fantastic!! I know what you mean about the greasy feel, I only condition Snickers' body and not his head/face. I use the shampoo on his whole body, head, and face being careful not to get close to his eyes. Smiles- Snick & Viv |

We use Paul Mitchell shampoo for dogs, and Redkin's leave-in conditioner. It is a great combination for us! |
I use Biogroom Fluffy Puppy (LOVE the smell!) and Biogroom Silk creme rinse. I am thinking of holding off on the creme rinse on the next bath, though, as I've noticed, like others, that Zoe looks a little greasy after a couple of days. She is silky coated - so I think that's why as I rinse and rinse and then rinse again - so I know I'm not leaving creme rinse in... |

I picked up some Tropiclean and after 1 wash I don't see any real difference than the shampoo/condition we were using which is one that we use. After a few days I'll know if our Sophie stays so clean looking as she can get a little oily-like looking after a while. I'll be watching to see if I notice anything else like less scratching, which they do very little of anyway. One thing I loved about the Tropiclean is that it goes a long way. It just keep lathering and lathering with about half as much shampoo. |

I like Espree products and Minksheen. I recently ordered a gallon of the Minksheen so we will be using it for a looooonnnnngg time! :) With Espree, I like the Silky Show Shampoo and the Hypo-allergenic Coconut Luxury Shampoo. I also used the Luxury Remoisturizer. With Minksheen, I do not use an additional conditioner as it contains natural conditioners. I shampoo mine every 10 days - two weeks and use the baby wipes in between. If you have a puppy, many go through a period of where the hair on the top of their head looks a little greasy and stringy. That usually is when the hair is changing colors from black to silvery grey to golden tan. Once the color changes more to the golden tan, it stops looking so greasy. At least that has been my experience so far. |
I use a shampoo called Revitalizing shampoo. It smells really good. I dont notice Gizmo's coat being greasy but be sure when you use conditioner you dont use too much and that you get it all rinsed out well. |
