Ears Falling I have a 10 week old Yorkie. I've had her about 2 weeks and when I first got her, both ears were standing up, since then one ear has fallen and she can make it stand up when she is trying to figure out what we are doing, but when she is just relaxing, it lays flat now. She is a baby and is probably teething so it may be normal. I read about taping ears, but I don't know if this is needed or if it will pass on its own. Thanks for any replies. Jamie, mom to Bella |
Ears  I wondered about my Toddie his ears stood up and were down when i got him ,I was told it was because he was teething and they would go down after he`d finished teething, and they did although it was a month later so if they go up and down it`s either when they are listening to you or teething . |
Sophie ears stay down unless she hears someone at the door. it looks like she has no ears most of the time |
If he has very thick hair, trim or have the groomer trim his ears from about half-way up. The thick hair can weight them down. |
Coral had ears up when i got her and then they went down after a few weeks. i now know that she was teething. i didn't do anything and they went back up after awhile! |
I haven't heard the teething thing, but I have raised several Yorkies. Their ears go up and down in the beginning. I just attributed it to building the muscles. Some never go up, though it is not standard. I have had several litters and one puppy I ended up giving to my mother-in-law rather than selling because his ears were just so large and were clearly not going to stand up. |
