Help please, with 8 week old puppy that will not eat First of all this is a co-workers pup, not mine. I remember reading a recipe for puppies that won't eat. Any suggestions? I've tried doing a search, but can't find it. She seems to have no interest in food at all, I'm afraid she wasn't completely weaned before leaving mama...I'm just scared for this little girl. I guess she's been force feeding with a syringe, store bought puppy formula. But other then that she hasn't eaten a thing for days. What would you do? I'm afraid she's going to lose her...poor baby. Thanks for any and all advise in advance!!! |
Try Natural Balance dog food rolls. You can get small ones for $.99 at Petco to see if the puppy will try. When I first got Chester he wouldn't eat either. I had to hand feed him kibble. I also spoon fed him soft food. Then I had to train the little bugger to eat on his own. |
First I'd try boiled finely diced chicken breast (not many can resist that). Tiki wouldn't eat at first either, but I got her started by sprinkling bits of chicken over small kibble, also soften kibble w/chicken broth, and you can also try cottage cheese or plain yogurt. I also gave her diluted canned goats milk. Of course keep Nutri-Cal handy for when she isn't eating. |
There was a thread in the breeders forum about Beef Liver Remedy For Fading Puppies, maybe it what you are thinking of: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...er-remedy.html |
