How much should she weigh? I had to take Bogie in to vet yesterday for a nail trim. I took Jada with us so I could have her weighed. I knew she had gained weight and I have cut down on her kibble (give her the lowest amt for what I think she should weigh). I have been adding green beans and other veggies as fillers. Right know she is 5lbs 14oz She is 11" length and 7" height, 2 1/2 yrs old. She had gotten up to about 6 1/2 lbs. so she has lost.(What would be a good weight for her? Do any of you have scales to weigh your babies? If so where did you get them? |
Did your vet say she is overweight because I have a girl that is 12 inches long and she is 6 1/2 lbs and not overweight. Is she visably overweight? |
When we got her in May(rehome retired breeder) she was 4lb 3oz. Our vet didn't want her to get over 5lbs(lp). She just looked so underweight and wouldn't eat very well. She was on Eukanuba which we changed. Well I over did it adding to her kibble to get her to eat. I just don't want to put any unneccessary stress on her knees. She is a little pig too!! will eat as long as there is food in the bowl. |
My Tucker is 9 pounds and 7 inches in height, I dont consider him fat/overweight at all.. he doesnt have an ounce of chub to squeeze on him anywhere ..lol he is very sturdy/cobby and if he weighed less I think he would look too skinny. My toy poodle is 4 pounds, same height as Tuck but she is so dainty, she has a really small frame and again I think her weight is fine for her frame. It think it really depends on the frame/size of the dog. |
