Kingston is getting neutered and I'm a nervous wreck! I dropped off my little Kingy at the vet this am for his neuter surgery & teeth extraction. I'm so worried about him! I've been putting off his surgery the past few months because he was so little at the time. I wanted him to be at least 4 pounds before I got him neutered. Now he's 9 months old and weighs 4.5 pounds. I think that's a healthy size. He's also reached full sexual maturity so I know I had to get him neutered soon. I also didn't want him to have dental problems down the line. In my eyes, he's still a little tiny baby and I'm praying everything goes well. I'm sitting in my office and all I can think about is my little boy. I can't concentrate on work at all. I've got all these client e-mails to answer and reports to do, but all I want is to know my baby boy is going to be OK. Can you all please pray that he will be fine? Please send positive thoughts this way. I really need it right now. Thank you my Yorkie Talk family! |
Sending you good all good thoughts and prayers! Your baby will be fine.:) Hot Rod was just under 3 lbs when he got neutered at 6 1/2 months. He was a champ and your Kingy will be too. :) He's just going to need a lot of TLC when you get him home...which somehow I don't think will be a problem.:D Hugs, Bo |
Aww I am sending good thoughts and prayers over your way! :D Kingston will do fine! Try not to worry that much, I know its hard bc its your BABY. We have all been there, and we are here for you!! Sometimes the tech's will call you and let you know that everything is ok after he is done..( I told them to call me after Peanut's sx) Maybe if you haven't already...You should call them and tell someone to call you as soon as they are done with his sx so you know everything is ok :D |
Thanks you two! I just love him sooooo much! I'll take your advice and try not to worry. I already called the vet to have them call me when he's done. I also called to make sure that he's kept away from the big dogs. When I dropped him off this am, there were some big dogs there getting surgery. I love dogs of all sizes, but you'll just never know how the big dogs might react to such a tiny little one. I think I was starting to annoy the lady over the phone. But can you blame me? |

That's good that they are going to call you, most vets do the sx in the morning so he should be done pretty quick here...depending on how many spay's and neuter's they have and if they have any other major sx. I remember the vet I worked for would always do the spay and neuter's first to get them pretty much out of the way... Oh no... I called and called my vet to..I felt like I was buggin them and I know how it is at a vet, its very busy, but it was my BABY!! So I backed off and gave them to about 12 and if they didn't call me I would call them. They are usually good with keeping the big/small dogs seperate..The only thing I could think of Kingston getting close to a dog or walking by one is when they will take him out for his sx and they would probably just carry him...so you shouldn't worry!! Let us know when you get that call!!! :D |

I have my cellphone right next to me w/ the ringtone turned on. I usually keep it on vibrate while I'm at work, but sometimes I don't hear it. This time, I want to make sure I don't miss the vet's call so I turned it all the way up...LOL! I will keep you posted. Thank you again for your support! I feel that the only people who can understand what I'm going through are other Yorkie parents. I could never express how I feel to my co-workers. They will all just think I'm nuts! |

Sending good thoughts and prayer's your way. I am sure he will be fine. Hope it's over for both of you soon. Hugs, |
Good thoughts and vibes being sent your way from Houston. Don't worry. Our Douglas was neutered when he was six months old (he's nine months now) and he weighed only 4.5 lb. it wasn't a problem at all. He never even licked or bit the wound site. We did put little baby "onesies" on him for a couple of days to make sure he didn't harm himself, but he never even had to wear a collar. Now, three months later, he's just a little rascal boy and every time we meet another Yorkie owner who has a female they wished that we hadn't had him neutered. But if it keeps him healthier and allows him to live longer and happier, then that's what counts. Again, don't worry, Kingy will be just fine. |
Kingston is OK! I got a call from the vet that Kingston did well during surgery. They have to watch him for a few hours, but I get to pick him up later tonight. Thank you all for your well wishes! |
Oh, glad to hear your little Kingston is doing well. My sweet Vivi was spayed yesterday, so I can relate. She is also on the road to recovery. I am sure Kingston will be so happy to be home. |
Glad to hear he did well, my little Relay is going to the vet for his check and to set the day for his neuter surgery.. hugs, CArmen in nj |
Awww, that's great he did so well! Now for the lovin' and spoilin' from mommy. :) |
:bananna: yeayy! I am so glad to hear that!!! Now you get to give him some TLC!!! Let us know how he does after you get him home...:D |
hi everyone, just want to let you know that kingston is here with me now. i picked him up from the vet about 2 hours ago. the vet said he did really well. he had to get 8 teeth removed! he's not very active right now and his poo was a little runny. the vet said that's normal. i fed him his dinner and he had no trouble eating his food. so right now, he's curled up sleeping next to me while i'm on my laptop. he looks so peaceful. i hope he gets back to his regular self soon. |
