For those who want to feed or try Orijen: I am putting this out so more people can see it, even though I posted it another thread: I believe so much in feeding a high quality food, here is my offer: We have a great boutique here in town that sells Orijen, Innova, Evo, CN, etc... I'm willing to pick up food for anyone and ship it to you. I will not charge you anything but the price I pay and the exact shipping cost. For those who want to feed Orijen, my store has 1 pound sample bags for $2. I simply buy 3-4 of these at a time. Keeps food fresh and will last half the month. So I'm only paying $16 a month for Lily to eat Orijen. We feed the puppy because of its small bites, but they have all varieties in the sample bags. I can get you 5 pound bags of Orijen or any of the other brands. I don't think it's wise to get large than 5 pounds because of how long it will last. As a rule of thumb for any kibble, there are 4 cups per pound of food. So, for a 5 pound bag, there are 20 cups. Lily eats 1/2 to 3/4 cup a day. Feel free to pm me if anyone wants to take me up on this offer. |
Very thoughtful! Thanks for thinking about YT members. |

My offer isn't limited to just Orijen. The store I go to also has Innova, Evo, CN, etc... I was asked a question over PM about why I love Orijen so much. I thought it could be useful here to. *I am not in anyway shape or form affiliated with Orijen. I don't get any compensation for word of mouth. I just believe in the food. I'm always happy to answer any questions about Orijen. I will say right away, that not every food works for every dog. My claims come from years of experience fostering, owning my own dogs, and showing, breeding, handling AKC German Shepherds. Not to mention, trying a bazillion dog foods before finding Orijen. As I posted in a thread today, regarding the high protein, dogs are carnivorous animals by nature. Their diet in the wild is high protein as are the diets of those who food their animals raw. High protein does not cause liver or kidney problems, but if your dog already has existing problems, it can be exacerbated by the high protein causing you to notice them. The stools on my dogs once adjusted are small and consistent just like on raw food. It can take a couple of weeks for a furbaby to adjust to a new food. When switching a dog over to Orijen, we immediately notice no doggy smell. That means no dog odor even if they are playing outdoors until it's been a while since their bath and just have an outdoor smell. The coat is nice and shiny as well as soft. The energy level is appropriate. Orijen is made by a small family company in Canada. They do not freeze their fish. It's always fresh. They know where their meat is caught and what goes in it. Their plant is rated for human consumption meaning you and I are safe to eat the ingredients. They do not ship out to numerous plants to process and package their food like some other companies have been known to do. Hope this helps some! |
Max eats Acana (Prairie Harvest - Provincial line)...made by the makers of Orijen. So far he is LOVING it! I love it because his stools are normal and not soft/runny. I like that they say the fish is freash caught in Canadian waters, free-run chickens, whole eggs, russett potatoes, ... |
