adult food our kayden is 10 months old now...and i would like to start transitioning her to adult food soon. she is currently on wellness just for puppy. but she's not crunching the dry food anymore. she just gulps it down whole. i'm thinking she needs bigger pieces. i've seen the new wellness simple solutions at our store. has anybody tried this? or does anyone have any other ideas? kayden is a bigger yorkie...almost 12 pounds...not overweight at all...she's very lean...just tall and long. thanks kelli |
Jackson's a little over 12 pounds too and he also likes more of a crunch, bigger pieces. If you want to stick with Wellness, the Wellness Core is definitely bigger. The regular chicken flavor kibbles are bigger too, but not quite as big as the Core. Jackson eats Innova adult and does well on it right now. |
adult food thank you for the reply. i'll ask my store if they have any samples of both. is it ok to mix brands while transitioning to adult food? |
thanks for the tip on lifes abundance. i'll be going to our store today or tomorrow. i'll see what they have samles of. |
Roscoe is 10+ pounds and he LOVES Taste of the Wild and it has bigger pieces. He is a picky eater, but has loved all of the flavors of TOTW. |
thanks for that input. i know they sell totw at our store. i'll put it on our list, too. :) |
Max loves the Acana (Provincial) Prairie Harvest. Champion Petfoods | ACANA | Our Products It is made by the people who make Orijen but is a lower (34%) protein. Nice sized pieces. Max is 7 lbs but he likes his food bigger. |
I would give Life's Abundance a try. Its an all life stage food so it would be great for him. I have a "teapot" (lol) my self and he is on it and he stays perfect in his weight. They tend to eat less food since its filled with all healthy ingredients and no fillers so all the good stuff stays in haha :) In my signature I have a link wiht the ingredients to the food. Good luck in what you try for him! I bet he's adorable! Quote:

We feed Orijen here. Lily is on the puppy food since it is a smaller bite formula and she is only 3 pounds. Not to mention she likes her food soft. So we fill water up to the amount of the kibble and refrigerate overnight. Voila, canned food out of high quality kibble. |
thanks for all the posts. i went to our store today. and i must say...i have the best store ever. they gave me two sample bags of all the grain free samples they had. totw, wellness core, and wellness simple solutions...different flavors of each, too :) i'll go to the websites of the others and see if they will send me samples. kelli |
