Pronunciation Questions I can't believe I'm asking this, but I need to know the pronunciations for: Temaril-P and Atopica Is it Tem-are-il -- p or Tem-er-il -- p? or neither? A(long)-top-ica or A(short)-top-ica? |
LOL, you should hear how I used to pronounce Biewer :p. I've only heard Temaril as in Tem-er-il P. I've heard Atopica both as A-TOPE-ica and A-TOP-ica. I've heard it that way by both by derms and non-derms...so what the heck. It 'feels' more natural to me to say A-TOP-ica, for some reason. |

lol, I am very careful about saying things ever since I said "titer" wrong. I would also naturally say A-TOP-ICA. Temaril-p looks like Tem-ARE-il-p to me though. So I had to ask... ;) Okay, I can call the vet now and not feel ridiculous.:p |

Now I say "Bee-Vaire", but that isn't exactly correct either as far as I know. I saw the pronunciation video and stiill don't get it. |
Hmm, how DO you say 'titer'? I checked the dictionary and the word 'atopy' (referring to allergies) is pronounced with a short a sound (like 'at'). I don't know if the medicine would be pronounced the same as the root word. If so, it would be said as at-uh-pica. |

Mybe I'll just spell it for her. Titer is with a long i. Tight-er, not tit-er. |
This site has the pronunciation for atopic. Atopic Definition | Definition of Atopic at Dictionary.com So long a and top, not tope. |
Ooops! That's the same site I looked at. I mis-read the 'ey' as a short a sound. Us Okies talk different, ya know! |
