I would do this for 3 months
also if the dog was not tested for thyroid I would get that panel done as i am freaking out reading this not knowing if a thyroid panel was done and a vet giving thyroid meds as that is just nuts to me. You can have the thyroid panel done through michigan state or dr jean dodds as we see dr jean dodds and she is an expert in blood work.
I personally think it has something to do with scabies or food if steroids are not giving relief - i do not suspect demodex as demodex is not that itchy but scabies is. |:thumbup::thumbup:
The only thing is that scabies is very obvious....hair loss and skin lesions. It is ugly!
I will bet this is a food allergy ... I don't understand the food this vet recommended...and definitely don't understand Thyro-tabs if thyroid testing was not done.
That is where I would start.
Forget the allergy testing (my opinion)...they all come up allergic to something! So do people! I have done it and also done the injections on my pup and also my son when he was young...I found it to be a waste of time and money. Those injections made my George's allergies worse! They also made my son's asthma worse. I know some people swear by them, but I would not do it again. |
