Thank you all for your informed replies to this thread. I certainly will do whatever is necessary to make him as safe and comfortable as possible, he is the love of our lives we enjoy ever minute with him and want only what is best for him. We will certainly have the pre-op blood work done after hearing what could happen, that is a scary thing. Again thank you all so much, we just love YT it is the best thing for us as new owners.

I got Jackson neutered at a Spay Clinic that I trusted for $65! I did my research and felt it was my best option for the price. The vet was extremely nice, answered every question I asked her, and he made it through with flying colors. They also extracted 4 baby teeth and microchipped him.

Lola is also due to be spayed around October. She is 3 pounds and like you, I was worried she was too small. The vet said she will do just fine with it, of course she'll have all the pre-op work. One thing I did learn is to check the anesthesia protocol...that is a very important issue with these little ones. You can find it on here in the Yorkie Library. We learned with Toby that the wrong type or amount can be deadly. It sounds like your vet is on top of things if they're worried about the hypoglycemia. Good luck and I'm sure she'll do fine!:)
