ears- 1up 1 down candys right ear has been standing for about 1 week now, not a move on her left. do you think it will still go up or is it too late. she is 16 weeks. i dont mind cos she is soooo cute, but this might sound silly, but will it affect her balance? any thoughts please, i would be lost without YT |
My yorkie did that for a long time and then when we groomed him the first time both ears went up. If you shave the top 1/3 of the ear it will help them to stand up. But if it does not bother you, it will not bother the dog at all. There are lots of dogs that have one ear up and one ear down and they are just fine. Theresa |
My Yorkie never got his ears up, but one ear is like on a greyhound, the lover part of it went up but not the upper:p Really silly sometimes. if the ear doesnt come up before 4 months, then but something to support the ear so it comes up :) If it isnt up before 5 months, it wont go up. |
This happened with Sophie for up to about 6 mths of age. I think in my album there is a 6 mth pic of her, just back from the groomer, with one ear up and one ear down. As long as I kept her ear tips shaved, they'd stay up. But as soon as it was close to her grooming session, the one would always drop down. They are now strong enough to stay up even with a bit of hair on them. But it was a good 6 mths. till that happened. Be patient...it may come up. Especially if you haven't yet had the top 1/3 trimmed. |
Gizmo had one ear up very quickly and it seemed like it took forever before the other one stood up but it finally did and I kept the tips of his ears shaved all the time. I dont think you have anything to worry about. In the event it doesnt stand up..your baby will still be cuter than ever! I think one up and one down is just soo cute! :p Oh and I havent ever heard of any balance problems associated with one up and one down so no worries there either! |
Dont worry That babies ears will be fine she is cute either way lol |
ah thanks everyone |
