Is this normal? Is it normal for my Yorkies gums to turn white after being outside for a little bit? I know it means he is dehydrated but did can he het dehydrated that quickly? |
It is possible. You didn't mention how big your baby was - and how long he was outside? Also, is this a puppy? Pale gums are always a warning sign, and not to be taken lightly. |
Ace is 8 months old and was outside for like 10 or 15 minutes. I should also mention that he doesnt go outside much except for his pottying....and its things like this that happen which worry me. He is only 4 puonds but my daughteer really wanted to play with him outside. |
10-15 minutes should be okay, but it depends on how hot and humid it is where you live. Also, at 8 months old, he's still a puppy, so perhaps it was a hypoglocemic episode (maybe from playing too hard or being overheated - this would cause the pale gums) You should keep Nutri-Cal on hand and give that to your baby if you ever see pale gums again or if he's acting droopy, etc. Also, before playtime, make sure he has eaten. |
Thanks! :) |
