Spay @ same time ?
 
Hello friends,

I have tried searching the archives with my question, no success.

We have two girls, ages 9.5 months & 8 months. When the time comes to have them spayed, should we have them both spayed @ the same time, or is better to "stagger" them ?

Any advice/comments are welcome & appreciated !!!

i'd have it done at the same time. Better to get them both done and over with at the same time. they might even bounce back faster after surgery

I would have it done at the same time. Last summer I had Pixie scheduled for a dental the same day as Roxie's spay but Roxie came into heat a few days before so I had to reschedule her. I thought it would be nice for them to have each other during the day at the vets and they would be less afraid. JMO

Thank you, that makes sense, it's nice to have affirmation though. They are very close and this will be another experience they go through together. ;)

Ya if I had 2 I would do it at the same time too!! When are you thinking about doing it?? Also make sure ( if you are going to) they do their Microchip when they are under and if they have any baby retained teeth that need to be pulled out...its best to do all that when they are under ! Good luck let us know!! :D

We had our male and female done at the same time so they would have the same down time

I did the same thing with Chelsea & Murphy. It worked out great.

We're going to have them spayed very soon. We're definitely going the microchip route, and are probably going to have to have teeth pulled (did your puppies have "dual fangs" by any chance ?). My wife thinks it's funny since her Yorkie before these two had perfect teeth with no problems.

As an aside, I couldn't help but notice lovespandp is from Corona CA, I was born and raised there !!!! What a coincidence.

Yes I am in Corona hehe..Thats funny!! Now you are in TEXAS!! I got peanut fixed at 4 months :/ he didnt have his adult teeth in yet..so at about 7 months he did and I had to put him under and get them pulled out :/ He did have a couple doubles....its normal.The yorkie bredd actually has a lot of teeth problems if they are not taking care of. Thats one of the things "yorkies" are known for!! So stay up on your pups dental work and they will be fine!!
