How do you tell if they are constipated? Marly didn't poo today, when i took him out he squatted like he was going and then kept on, then looked at it like, where is it? Later my boyfriend came over and made a comment that he looked a little bloated, so we both were thinking the same thing. Does this sound farmiliar for anyone? I read that pure pumpkin with no spices works or extra virgin olive oil works. Do i just mix this in with his food, and how much? He hasn't really been eating his food either, i am feeding him Blue Buffalo (i think its buffalo?) right now, and the place he came from i dont think took very good care of him :( so i am assuming the food was not good quality either. Could this have something to do with it? Him getting used to a new food? It really just started too, when i first got him home he gobbled it all up, but these past fews days not as much. The only thing i can link that with is the eye ulcers (for those who have been following my posts). What do ya'll think? tara and Marly Bug :aimeeyork |
You can absolutely give him pumpkin to help with both constipation or diarrhea. If his potty routine has changed and he seems to be straining then I'd give him some, it can't hurt. I'm not familar with your dog food brand, but if he's been ok up til now I wouldn't think that was it. Make sure he's drinking well. Lack of water can contribute to constipation. And you can always call your vets office and just ask for some advice. |
Pumpkin works awesome for Missy. We've used it for both diarhea and constipation. Just a teaspoon usually does the trick for her. |
Thank you very much ladies!:) |
