ears down?? when i first got bella both ears were down, as she turned about 3 months they would vary, up and down. one up one down. there was like one week were they both were up. now shes 10 months and there definetely down. ive read alot about "training yorkies ears" but i would rather hear it from one of you guys.. any suggestions to keep them up?? |
Have you tried keeping them shaved? Tobie is almost 8 months and his ears just started standing up but they do go up and down or only one up but they started standing after I trimmed a lot of the hair off. Tobie's have never been shaved but I have heard that it helps because the hair weighs the ear down. Just shave the top half of the ear or maybe even the top 3/4ths. |
Try cutting the ear hair to reduce the weight on their ears especially if they are puppies. Second, sometimes puppies ears go down when they are teething. If you are concerned with their ears staying down. take some 2" medical tape and tape them up. Its not harmful or cruel. I had to tape Chewy's ears when he was a puppy because they would flop over when he was teething. Both ears stand up but occasionaly one will down if there is a lot of hair. Ears Down/Up?? It may just be that Bella's ears will be floppy/down instead of standing up. Zeke's ears were standing up tall when we adopted him while Zack's were floppy when we adopted him. One of the yorkie Mom's in the area has been trying to get her little guy's/Hobie's ears to stand up like Zeke's with no luck. Taping etc has not worked and Hobie's ears were meant to be floppy. While Zeke's ears are the envy of some of the yorkie owners in our area, Zack's give him a different look and personality. People comment on how much they like his "floppy" ears and the lady's just adore his fuzzy face and floppy ears that often earns him an extra treat or two:D. see their album pics. Bob |
Ears up/down? Zoe's ears have always been floppy and we just love them that way. Never tried to make them do something they didnt do naturally... |
