Just neutered, but rocket is making even more appearances??? So, Nozz got neutered YESTERDAY. He's barely awake from the meds (cute and stumbly yesterday...kinda felt bad for giggling at him but it was hilarious!). Today though, I noticed his rocket out several times...and it seems to be when he's excited to see me, or this evening, when I brought out the brush. And it is OUT, not just like the tip, and the gland-thingys are in full bloom. Seems weird to me that it would be out so much since he just got chopped, right? And it makes me feel icky. Is this normal? I know a lot of people have said "they're just boys"...Alos, any tips on training him to "put it up"? |
It takes a couple of weeks after neutering to get the testosterone out of the system. However Chachi has been neutered and Ive seen his lipstick out and he still humps a teddy bear. Ive only seen it once in 4 yrs but Im sure theres been other times I just didnt notice it |
Scruffs used to be obsessed with other dogs privates.. even males. It was terrible. I had him for a month before he got neutered (I wasn't sure if I was going to keep him) and he never left my Neu alone! It took about 6 weeks for him to be a normal dog. Then I had to teach him the proper introductions to dogs and socialize with them normally. |
It took Jackson a few months after being neutered for his humping to LESSEN, but he still occasionally will hump his teddy bear, lol. The one and only time I saw his "rocket" as you call it was like a week in a half after he was neutered, I almost puked, it was huge, lmao! |

Nozz isn't too dominant a character, and he only rarely humped Ms. Pig (I suspect he learned not to do that around me!)...I was just curious if that's a weirdity, if anyone else's little guy gets THAT excited to see them...because it struck me as not right. Maybe I'm 12 at heart (oh wait...I am!), or maybe I finally feel like the little guy is my kiddo...not sure which ;) |
