Please help at walgreens right now Need baby benadryl but everything is labeled chrildrens and is liquid except for fast melt tablets. What do I get and what would the dosage be? Vet said to "give baby benadryl" |
Children's liquid is what should be given. I'm not sure there is such a thing as baby Benadryl. |
liquid children's benadryl is what you should get. make sure the only active ingredient is Diphenhydramine HCl. the dose is 1mg per 1lb of body weight. So a 5 pound dog gets 5mg of benadryl. |
They have a variety of liquids for kids. Allergy, cold from benadryl and children's Tylenol and concentrated Tylenol infants drops |

Just buy the plain regular old Children's Benadryl. Active ingredient is Diphenhyramine HCL only. Children's Benadryl Dye-Free Allergy Liquid | DERMAdoctor |
No tylenol at all ever. None that say just Children's Benadryl with the active ingredient that kalina82 mentioned? |

I'm a pharmacist so I get asked this question all the time by people looking for baby benadryl. There is no such thing as baby benadryl. The only oral liquid form of diphenhydramine is labeled as children's benadryl and has a concentration of 12.5mg/5mL. |
u guys I got it with just that one active ingredient. Thanks so much |
Look closer at the one that says, "Benadryl" and then "Allergy" underneath it. What are the active ingredients? |

Yes, it will probably say, "Benadryl Allergy." That is the one we use but we don't get dye free. |
hi guys, im back from walgreens. i got benadryl dye free allergy the one that looks like the link. i was on my phone viewing so it was a little difficult and I am freaking out. My doggie is 9lbs so using the measurements below shed required 9mg. However this is in mL what would be the conversion?? |
bchgirl posted this somewhere else: "Here's the benedryl dosage formula... Your dogs body weight times 5 divided by 12.5 = dose in cc/ml To figure out your dogs body weight you have to convert ounces to pounds... EX: a dog that weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces would weigh 4.625 pounds you must take the 10 ounces and divide by 16 then add the 4 pounds... 10 divided by 16 = .625 + 4 =4.625 4.625 X 5 divided by 12.5 =1.85 cc/ml" So your dog is 9lbs. 9 x 5= 45 45 divided by 12.5 = 3.6ml |
