Is it safe to freeze canned food?? I am going to start using wellness canned food. Usually a can of food is good for 3 days max? so I wanted to conserve it and wondered if I can freeze it into little cubes and it would be safe to give throughout the week? |

as long as u dont freeze it for 5 months |
I've done it before. It worked fine. I just took it out of the can and portioned small amounts into ziploc baggies. |
Yep, you can. Just take it out of the can first. I was always told never to put anything in the fridge or freezer that was in a can after it was opened because it could poison you. I know, I know, it's probably an old wives tale but I don't want to risk it! |
Thank you, I appreciate your input so much :) |
I freeze canned food, divide into small sections in a sandwich baggy. Whatever you store in the fridge, transfer it into a glass container & use it in 7-10 days. Leaving it in the can is a no no (like kristy40 said...I'm not sure why either:D). |
I put the wet food in kongs and throw them in the freezer for a treat. |
I freeze mine is snack sized baggies and take it out the day before my last baggie is to run out. I have even broken off frozen chunks in a pinch because I try to freeze it in as thin a layer as possible to speed up thawing and also to break of if I'm forgetful  |
