Just A Few Questions.... So we were gone for two days and went camping with Snickers up in Idaho. While we were they're he ate all of his food. Every last bite of it. And he was more energized and did more then sleep on the couch. But now that I have him home again he wont eat except for little bites here and there. Should I cook for him and make him eat when I want him to eat? The food the breeder had him on was Purina little bites which got a 48 on the grader. Also, he sleeps all day except for when it's time for his walk. I have to even wake him up for that. He doesn't follow me as much anymore instead he just sleeps. I think he is just super bored? Or is he supposed to sleep all day and all night? |
how old is he? what food do you have him on now? please feed him something better than purina make sure you are giving him nutrical 2 times a day. 2 0r 3 fingertips to avoid hyppoglycemia |
Yes, I'm hoping to switch him off of purina. He's two years old. |
Judging from the yorkies I've known, it is very unusual for such a young dog to sleep all day and night. Most yorkies are energetic and curious. Mine follow me around everywhere, and can't rest while something is going on. They have to be in the thick of everything. Could be his diet, or maybe it's just his personality. Changing his diet would be a good place to start. |
I forgot to say that I was feeding Eukanuba kibble (that's what they had Sasha on when I got her), but I knew there was something better out there. So here in YT I learned about the premium dog foods and all that. There is a great website www.dogfoodanalysis.com look for the reviews section. There you will find the best dog foods. Also, from reading the reviews I learned what a premium food should have and what shouldn't have. you can also feed your little baby fruits (except raisins or grapes) my baby loves watermelon (no seeds pls) I also give her baby carrots, little pieces of apple, if I'm eating oranges she loves to lick them! (not too much though it's too citric) so the point is you can complement the diet with many things but make sure that your baby gets at least one fulfilling good meal of a premium food. hope it helps |
