Dry puppy food I've seen the threads of all the good dry foods but most seem to be for adults. My puppy is now eating (I know this is gross) Science Diet. We never knew how bad it was until recently and that's all our other dog ate, he was healthy and fine, but my new baby cannot keep this stuff down. After eating it he gets frequent diarrhea. I put him on the bland chicken and rice diet for 2 days and he was getting better so today we tried yogurt with the dry meal and it just did not work out. What do you guys feed your Yorkies when they're puppies? BTW he's only about 2lbs so some food we can't give him :( Also, please give some suggestions for food that is about the same price as Science Diet..12 bucks for about 5 lbs. |
What do you mean he's only 2lbs so there's some foods you can't give him? Also, most brands of dog food have a Puppy formula. I would recommend Innova, Merrick or Wellness. There is so many more to choose from though. Jackson LOVES Innova and they have a puppy version! |

Thanks..I'll maybe try Innova. |
Your new puppy may just need to be transitioned over to her new food from what your breeder originally had her on. Did the breeder tell you what your pup was being fed? Were any food included when you got her? If so, mix it in with her new food and transition her over as it would seem you have a little one with a sensitive tummy. :) |

She gave us some really crappy walmart food that we immediately threw away. |
We feed our 4 month old (2.5 pounds) Royal Canin Mini Breed Puppy 33. The breeder fed this to him and we continued with it since we picked him up at 9 weeks (he was 1.6 pounds). And our Vet told us to continue with this and let him eat as much as he wanted at this stage. He's never had any issues or been fussy with his food. I did wet the kibble down a bit when he was younger to soften it just a little. Now I don't wet it down at all. |
