HGE is very easy to diagnose with a simple blood test. In HGE, the packed cell volume (red blood count) is over 60. Sudden, explosive bloody diarrhea is the classic symptom. It doesn't sound like London has HGE. Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE) |

You can do further testing on her pancreas with a Spec cPL, TLI with vitamin b check and an ultrasound if you want... |
The IV fluids were given through a catheter in her front leg. They kept her for the day and I took her home at night with the IV attachment wrapped so they could give her fluids the next couple of days. It doesn't sound like HGE. |
Thanks...no im guessing its not HGE since she has not pooped diarrhea or blood but what has me worried is she has not pooped at all yesterday or this morning but then again she does not want solid food so im guessing thats why. She does pee normally tho:confused: I keep giving her pedialyte and last night i was able to give her some chicken broth, she actaully drank a little herself and now im going to try to give her more. Is that enough to substain her for now? Should i wait until she poops or should i take her back into the vet? She hasnt thrown up any of the liquids yet(crossing my fingers) but she is still sleeping a lot |
Sending little puppy prayers for London. |
I hope she is feeling better soon... Please don't give Pepto. The new forumal as asprin in it. My Vet said this is NO GOOD :( |
