Scratching Roxie's been scratching behind her one ear alot. I don't see any fleas on her but wondering if the shampoo I'm using is drying her out a bit. What's a good soothing shampoo for dry skin? Appreciate any input you might have. Thank you! |
It could be also allergies. Maggie had the ear scratching a lot and really bad and even had a surgery to prevent ear infections. Now we know that she is allergic to over 20 different things. She gets medication and shots and is a happy healthy furbutt now... |
Allergies can sure make life a misery! How did you find out what things she's allergic to? My sprayer broke on my sink so I think this last time I bathed Roxie I just didn't get her rinsed as good as I should have around her face. I try to be careful around her face not to get too much in her ears and eyes. So it could be that I just missed a spot so it's a little irritated now. Still not liking the shampoo I have at the moment. My SIL gave it to me awhile back, she works at a groomer and sometimes she'll have stuff at her house her boss gives her. I just think we need something better. |

Scratching behind ear I took my Yorkie to the parlour for a wash the other day, and the lady working there told me Tyson (my 4month old Yorkie) has ear infection. I had no idea, I also thought Tyson had fleas due to all the scratching behind the ears. So I went to the vet and they gave me ear cream I had to put inside the ears (not so easy, but I have mastered it :D) The only problem is, how do I know if the infection is 100% cured? the lady said that if not treated right the first time, just like urinal infection it could keep coming back!:( help!! |
I just went through this with Emily. I wipe her ears every day so I knew there wasn't the kind of infection I've seen before. The vet checked her ears and found a few yeast cells. She put her on Panalog ointment for 10-14 days. She seems better now. I'm wondering if it's because her ears droop down. Maybe when I wipe them with a damp cloth, moisture gets trapped in them.:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
