You can spread it over the top, or else mix it in. Cat food is alot "smellier" than dog food so may stimulate your dog to eat.
My dog has pancreatitus so I have to watch fat content. If she doesn't eat on schedule she often will start vomiting, so I can't do the "tough love" route and just wait it out when she decides to be picky. I talked to my vet about it, and she recommended using Senior variety foods since they usually are lower in fat. I usually get INOVA or Wellness brand.
I know it's not good to give them cat food regularly, but a bit now and then to stimulate their appetite is ok when you have a fragile dog that must eat regularly. |
