never hungry??????? My baby refuses to eat. He will eat his treats before his food so I know not to give him his treats until he eats his food but he wont eat his food. If he does eat his food it is very little. He is so thin, Last time I fattened him up to 6 lbs his stomach couldnt handle it and he got a bad case of diareah and ended up losing the weight. Does anyone know of something that would make my baby biggie want to eat his food naturally? Im soooo worried. Maybe he's naturally thin? |
how old? have you had him bile acid tests as dogs with liver issues will not eat alot of times as it makes them sick --what food are you feeding and what is protein count -maybe he is trying to tell you something that he does not like it perhaps. Have you tried other foods? |
I've Had The Same Issue I've gone thru like 8+ foods with mine about a year ago. He was a picky eater and still is. Try a different food and see if that will work. Mine would smell the food and literally walk away. He didn't even go thru 1/4 bag and I had to find another food. Once he wouldn't eat the brand at all, so I had to take it back (the only time I did). For mine now, I use "Royal Canine for Yorkshire Terriers" which is found at Petsmart. It is expensive for a small bag, but he does eat it. Now other folks you will talk to will tell you if you leave the food and he/she will get hungry enough, they will eat. I couldn' do that myself since I knew he had to eat. I even took him to the Vet. When you play with him, instead of giving him treats, give him his food kibbles. Or try another food with him and put them on a plate with his regular food and let him choose, as the Vet told me. Also, with the heat dogs don't eat a lot. Good luck and hope I have helped some. |
i have a picky eater maltese and you can add low sodium organic broth just a little and some organic chicken from costco i cook this up for treats as most treats have horrible ingredients in it and then mix it all together |
omg! I just bought and started Giving him the royal Canine for yorkies per my Vet. I took him to the vet and she said he was normal and told me to give him the royal canine. I didnot have anything tested on him. They did blood tests and everything on him and found nothing. I dont want to put him through this again. He seems full of energy and okay. My vet said he's just on the thin side. He ate the Royal canine a few times but hats it. I've given him Organic foods. Buffalo blue, Wellness. Ive even tried junk food, OY, he's a little pain but I love him. My cat's a mutt and will eat anything. |
