Puppy teeth questions My Mia's baby teeth are falling out, but I noticed yesterday that she has four canines on the bottom. In the last week I have found six teeth on the carpet (and one stuck in the tuggy ;) ) Now I know if they don't come out on their own they will have to be removed, but how long should I wait before opting for the surgery? At what age is it obvious that they will NOT fall out on their own? Thanks for all the help..... |

It's common among Yorkies. Vets usually take them when the puppy is spayed/neutered so they are only under anesthesia once. Some will eventually lose them on their own. My Chloe had already lost two of hers when she was spayed so the Vet chose not to pull the other two. Now she has only one left at 9 mos. If it doesn't come out by the time of her first dental, it will be pulled then. |

My two yorkie girls had their retained baby teeth removed on Tuesday when they were both spayed. One is nearly two years old and one has just turned one. |

Jackson had his removed at his neuter surgery at 6 1/2 months old. |
