Long walks... Hello everyone! I'm starting to walk in the evenings for about an hour ... sometimes a little more. I'd like to bring Paco with me on my walks but I'm being told two different things. Some tell me its good for him to take long walks and others are tellling me not to because it may wear out his joints because he's a little guy only weighing 4.8 lbs. I don't want to cause him any harm. What do you think? Or suggest? |
I don't have experience with the tiny ones - my Jackson is 14lbs, but I would say go for it. Exercise is good, dog or human, and it will definitely tire him out. I've taken Jackson for an hour walk before and he's fine. Just bring some water with you. And hey, if worse comes to worse, you can pick him up and carry him the rest of the way :-P |
I'd say to take him. He'll let you know if he's getting tired or if something else is bothering him. I think its great that you would devote that much time to making sure he gets plenty of fresh air and exercise. |
1 Attachment(s) Tia weighs 5.5lb and she has been walking for miles since she was a pup. Shes 11 mths now but we go out for hours and she lets me know when she has had enough by scratching my legs and then she jumps in her bag. Attachment 280508 |

Tia is so cute ... love the bag! |
I'd take her. Belive me she'll let you know if she's had enough. Piper just rolls over and looks at me like ok mom my walk is over, time to pick me up. |
I would definitely take him. I'm sure he'll appreciate the long walk since most dogs love going on walks! |
