adult teeth question Hailey is 3.5 years old and while i was brushing her teeth earlier i've noticed she's missing one of her upper frontal incisor. She had her baby teeth pulled out when she got spayed at the age of 6 months.I was wondering....... will the tooth grow back or she lost it for good? It's odd I've never noticed it was missing........ |
If it was an adult tooth, then yeah, she lost it for good. |
Are the ones around it loose? Does she have any tartar build up? |
There's one loose incisor tooth but it's in the other side though and it will probably fall off soon. Is it normal for yorkies to start loosing teeth at this age? |
I think she has lost it 4 good sorry . ive just started 2 brush my babys teeth i think its great that more people r brushing their doggies teeth then they can spot a problem straight away. |
Don't fret. So many on YTC were helpful to me when our girl had extractions. Yorkies don't really use their incisors and in some are to close together and become loose. Francie had all but 2 of her's removed. Genetically some just don't fair well. Do you brush weekly? Petzlife oral gel, now avail at a larger chain is great. Its not your fault! |
It sounds like she needs to see the vet so they can decide if any teeth need to be pulled and to make sure there is no tartar build up contributing to this. Ellie had to have 9 teeth pulled, so she has no incisors left. She had periodontal disease...pretty common in Yorkies. |
