Hi, I just had my 3# babygirl spayed. When speaking with the familiar staff, they informed me she did wonderfully no problems at all. She was spayed, 3 teeth removed, was chipped and nails clipped. I did request pre-surgical lab work, heart Monitor, Oyxgen/ BP to be monitored. If anything showed up abnormal in her cardiac enzymes that were done in the pre-op lab work, we probably would have rescheduled the surgery. There was no problem in the labwork so she was health to go. She has been at the vet for 2 days and is coming home tomorrow. The only reason she stayed an extra day was for her to rest. Her litter mate brother is very rambuncious and the minute he sees her he will probably tackle her and want to play rough. IMO, if you know your vet and feel comfortable with them I think it is safe to follow their lead in what needs to be done before surgery. I trust mine completely, I know that she has the pets best interest in her heart. I am in TN and I think with everthing I requested to be done, including the $60.00 pre-op labs my bill will be in the $300.00 range. since your in KY it should be in the same range. If not sure, call and ask instead of worrying about it. Good luck kiddo, everything will be fine. After all they have been doning these surgeries for alot of years.. :-) OP if you haven't met the vet, you need to. It is as important to meeting a surgeon/doctor for you. You must have respect and trust for the vet, or find another one.. To another poster, They will do a spay on an in-heat female but they do charge more.. God Bless all us Furbaby Mommies...... |
