Bananas Not bananas like "crazy", although my Mia is that too. Edible bananas. I found out over the weekend that Mia LOVES Dried and fresh bananas. I only give her tiny little bits. She goes crazy for them. I don't give her to many because I am not sure what they are going to do to her little digestive system. Does anyone else have banana lovers? Oh and carrots too. The baby carrots. She is 5 months today and still teething. Are raw carrots ok for them? We used to give them to our larger dog when he was a puppy when he was teething. (he is also part lab, alot bigger) :animal36 If these are ok in moderation what else could they have? Or are these not a good idea? (people food) We don't normally feed her people food. Maybe a small pinky nail size of cheese if I have is accessible. :aimeeyork |
Oh my gosh...our nearly-5-month-old absolutely loves mini carrots. It's been the only treat that she "consistently" likes and the first word she learned! When we couldn't interest her in eating anything else (first few transition days), she would chow down on a mini carrot. They helped us keep something in her stomach until she settled into her new home and began regular eating. I haven't had that experience with bananas. She just sorta licks a piece but never actually eats it. |
bananas and carrots are fine to give. You can give any fruit except grapes and raisins and any vegetable except onions and avocado |
Bits of bananas and carrots make good healthy treats as well as apples, blue berries, and even lettuice. My guys sit at attention when I am making salad hoping for bites of crisp green lettuice. |
Good to know... Thanks for all of the input. These seem to make healthy treats for her. although I know she won't eat raw spinach. I dropped some on the floor, she licked it up and promptly spit it out. |
Yes, my two go crazy for bananas!..All my husband has to say is "who wants a banana?" They literally fly from where ever they are in the house....barking crazy, and as soon as he sits down, jump right into his lap quivering with excitement!! If he doesn't announce that he is having a banana, all he has to do is crack it open.... it has the same affect on them!!! totally crazy for bananas!! |

Mine love carrots..they are not to sure about bananas |
How cool for your pup that right here on YT, our very own Chattiesmom makes Yorkie Yummies in both banana, and carrot flavors! :D Curly goes wild for them! Try them out! |
It took months for our Yorkie to eat carrots. Then she would only eat them if daddy gave them to her. Once I gave her a baby carrot and she left it lay on the bed till hubby came home and gave it to her. By then it was dry and shriveled up but she ate it because it was from him. Now she eats them from me too, our last dog loved cabbage too. |
My lil one loves the baby carrots, peas, apple, soy beans but isn't fond at all with bananas/strawberrys. I am going to try blueberries this weekend after I market and get some. I am beginning to think she is more of a veggie gal instead of a fruity gal  |
I read here on another post that the bags of baby carrots, are soaked in chlorine and some other chemical, not to give them to your pups, thats why when in the frig after a few days the outer skin turns white, from the chlorine , probably best to buy the big ones and peel and dice for the pups, or organtic. They also said on dog whisper the guy feeds his dog bananas. Another treat that is healthy i read is open a can of pumpkin put teaspoons on a tray , freeze them and then put the frozen pumpin treats in baggies in your freezer and whenever you want to treat them or would be great for teething . My pups love apples, and i buy liver and cook it and cut it up in cubes and freeze it in baggies, for liver treats. Pinnapple is another fruit i hear puppies love. My pups pretty much love any human food, not so crazy about there dog food RC. |
