A little concerned..... I wanted to get an opinion from some other mommies here on something.....I know how delicate the little throats are with these doggies....Lucky has this rubber chicken toy that he just absolutely adores!! It squeaks when he bites it.....I was watching him play with it and it made me wonder about his neck....He REALLY gets excited with this chicken and gives it good workover!! He bites it, barks at it, he even runs through the house with it hanging from his mouth while barking at the same time!! But I was wondering....If he is shaking this soooo extremely hard, isn't that hard on his neck and throat??! He shakes it so hard that honestly if he ever hit his head while playing with it, he would knock himself out! lol We give him a big open area to play but the concern is his neck for me.....It doesn't make him aggressive because we can go to take it at any time and he don't mind.....But yeah, I was worried about his throat! lol So, it would be great if someone could give me some advice here! I find myself coming here with every little concern...people here are amazingingly helpful!! Thank you......Lucky's Mommy :aimeeyork |
Both of my Yorkies are the same way. Its even worse when you're playing with the toy with them, they want you to be so rough! since he's the one bashing his head around I wouldn't be too concerned. Its more of a concern to me when I'm playing with them and I have the toy and fighting it with them... I love it when they throw their head around trying to "kill" the toy... its so funny to watch. |
Hm, don't really know about his neck but personally, I wouldn't let him "kill" the toy. That's not a good habit to get into. I know that's their instincts but I would stop it if it gets too much. Jackson will occasionally do that with a couple of his toys but not very often and when he does... I only let him do it playfully and for a minute. I don't want him to ever get in that kill mentality lol. |
I really don't think he is trying to "kill" it......he is just sooooo excited that he gets carried away! I would be concerned about a mental thing if he wouldn't allow me to take the toy from him....but he don't mind when I take it! I was worried about him with such a small neck.....I am thinking that he could whiplash himself! Lucky's Mommie :aimeeyork |
