Is bella going bald?
 
Hi,

This is a bit of a strange question but bella has a bit of a thinning patch on the top of her head. The breeder says that this means she should have a gorgeous coat but since other things have come to light I am beginning to wonder!
Any advice?

Is it thinning or just breaking to the white stage? Laddy's looked like a bald spot when it did that.

it is going pretty pale on her head - her undercoat is going grey too - what does that mean?

This is common and normal :) I thought my baby was going bald too, when she was a pup and the black on top of her head was sprouting gray/white.

She is in my avatar, the dark one, you can see she did not go bald :)

He black turned to a beautiful gold, and she was still changing to her adult colors after she was 2 years old

Top of Roxy's head was very thin like that for quite awhile. No bald spot, but very thin. Gradually hair started coming. Was about the same color as her scalp so hard to see for awhile. She now got a nice bunch of new hair (not 1/2" yet). It's growing slow, but at least it's growing. She's got a lot of silver coming in under the black too. She's almost 7 mo.

Their coat (fur) goes through lots of changes from black to white to blond to rich gold etc. Its beautiful and facinating to watch them. But it can be a little scary at times if you arent prepared for it lol. I know it was for me also. ;)
