Just double checking! Hi all, Three weeks ago, Kaia was weighed at the Vet and she was 1.8 lbs. Yesterday, she weighed 2.5 lbs at 17 weeks. Of course, because she is a toy breed the Vet didn't ask about her diet as she is still small, but is the large jump in size normal for a Yorkie? I can never notice any changes in her size because to me, she's still very tiny! I feed her two times a day and leave kibble - Innova puppy out for her and she eats about 15 pieces. She also gets a variety of treats. She's a very finicky eater. I know kibble is best for Yorkshire Terrier's teeth and since she doesn't eat just kibble, I give her Greenies and brush her teeth regularly. Her breakfast and dinner consist of shredded boiled chicken breast, mixed thoroughly with Innova canned puppy. She gets about half a can of Innova puppy a day and half a chicken breast. Should I be doing anything differently? We're going to be introducing a new puppy into the house and I wanted to double check to make sure the way I will be feeding them is okay. |
Sounds good to me but I'm no expert. Jackson weighed 6 pounds at his 12 week appointment and leaped to 8.6 pounds at 17 weeks old! He's now almost 14lbs at 7 months old. |
He's gorgeous too! Thanks for the peace of mind. |
