Can Yorkies get tendonitis My 2 year old Yorkie sometimes elevates her left back leg. Occasionaly she yelps. Took her to the groomer the other day and she did it at the groomers. When this happens she is not sensitive when I touch or rub her leg........and in a minute or so she is running frantically trying to catch frisbies. (no limping. You would never quessed anything ever happened)It has happen 2 times in the last month, and lasts no more than just a minute or so. Any ideas??? Thank you. |
She may have a luxating patella that jumps in and out. I would have the vet check her knees. We have several dogs that come into our grooming shop that once in a while their knee cap will pop out of place and luckily they usually snap right back in. We have a couple of little dogs that you can feel the knee cap constantly going in and out. They usually don't look like they are in pain. It happens so quick. |
Thanks Thanks so much. :) Your discription sounds exactly right on. I have scheduled a vet wellness exam and will have it checked out. |
Yes, it's probably a luxating patella. Yorkies are prone to them. Here's a good article explaining them: LUXATING PATELLA (KNEE CAP) |
