Hannah gets spayed on Tuesday.....EEk I am so worried :(, The vet said to take her food up at 8:00 the day before her surgery. She will be staying overnight. I am to pick her up wednesday afternoon/evening. Based on you all's previous experience .........What else am I to expect? How long will it take for her to recover? Will her personality change I read something about putting pajamas on. Is it any specific kind? She will also be getting teeth extracted if need and microchipped. Please keep little Hannah and I in your thoughts and prayers. |
I know you must be worried. Everything will be fine. Just think positive. My Daisy is 2 lbs. I have 2 other male that got neutered this past month and I was so worried. They are both fine. It will be a long while for Daisy gets spayed. She is too small. |
Good luck! Everything will be fine. :) |
Hannah is 4.6 pounds. Is this a good weight? |
Keeping you and hannah in our thoughts and prayers. |
Be sure the vet is using Isoflurane or sevoflurane (gas inhalant anesthesia). ASK! DO pre-op bloodwork especially Liver Enzymes (ALT,AST, Alkaline Phosphatase) Yorkies in general don't handle anesthesia well and can have problems (use gas inhalants only) especially those weighing less than 4.5 pounds. Not a good idea to piggyback procedures. A spay is considered major abdominal surgery. Good Luck.... |
Mandie was right under 5lbs when she was spayed and did okay. They didnt send us home with pain meds, which was a BAD thing to do!!! She was sore for the first 2 days but then was back to normal. I bought a baby onsie for her to wear because the cone was too big for her to wear. She didn't bite or lick at the stiches b/c of the onsie she wore! That was probably the best investment I made!!! (the premie, 0-3 mth size works best!!!):aimeeyork Good luck Hannah with your spay....you'll do just fine!!!!!!!! |
