Too much of a good thing???? Farts, Foods, Holistic??? Is it possible to be giving my boys too much of a good thing? Right now for my little one (still 1.8lbs  no growth for 3 weeks ... is this normal for a 17weeker?) He is on wholisticpets colostrum power (helps his puppy dander ... it really worked), NutriCal (just in case during our outings), and Azmira Aller'G (for his runny eyes, always wet, vet said it is probably allergies and to give him benegryl but I choose a holistic approach instead). I wanted to try Angel eyes for his runny eyes too. And he is on Chicken Soup for the puppy lovers soul. Where as my older boy is never on the same food (although I'm starting to find out that some of the holistic foods are a bit too much for his tummy, merrik and evengers) HELP HELP HELP with my big boy, his tummy does best on nutro but I'm trying to switch him (he get's really looose stool with merrik and evengers. It is still formed btu when I go to pick it up ... well no so formed anymore LOL and it STINKS!!!! Oh and he farts a TON!!!) Any suggestions for any of the above info would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks you guys!!! I LOVE YT! |

Nutro is known to have caused the deaths of many, many dogs (google it). Please reconsider feeding Nutro. Have you fed the older one any of the Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul? This is an all life stages food and would be suitable for both your babies. |

You could try some sample packs of the Chicken Soup adult formula to see how he does on it, or even just buy a small bag of it. My 5 yr old Yorkie does ok on the Chicken Soup, but she seems to be able to eat almost anything. The only food I really had any issues with was StrongPoint Naturally Premium. When I tried that food, she started leaving little clumps of black hair all over the house (on the carpet), and it stopped when that food was gone and I moved on to another brand of food. Never had that issue before or since, so it must have been something in that food. A lot of places have sample packs of foods that they can give you to try. Good luck. |

As for your other guy - you need to look at the ingredient lists and see which ingredients in foods are the ones that DON'T cause the loose stools, then look for good foods with the right ingredients. If he is having severe gas, then the ingredients in what you're currently feeding are irritating his system. You could also consider giving him a probiotic/digestive enzyme if you think his system needs add' support (but the ingredient elimination is probably most important here, unless he had a disease/bug as a pup). |
