My dog ate a piece of chicken bone Hey all, It's been a while since I last posted but Ms. Lila ate a piece of the end of chicken bone. She seems fine but do you think she should go to the vet? What can I do to make her pass the bone without problems. |
At this point, IMO, the best thin to do is watch her for any signs of complications... such as an obstruction> Vomiting, unable to pass a bowel movement, blood in the stool, crying when trying to potty, fever, lethargy. Thankfully, she did not choke on the bone. Hopefully the bone will pass and she will be fine. :aimeeyork |
If you are worried I would at least call the vet. I know that they can splinter off and injure the pups throat, insides, and on the way out. I personally would take my pup in for peace of mind if I was that worried. |
Wow, I hate that when their is not an update right away. Wonder if it is was the bone or that white part. |
Was it cooked or raw? I know this is from yesterday but the vet would likely just tell you to watch since you can't induce vomiting, so what else is there to do? If there is any vomiting, diarrhea, blood from usually places, no bowel movements, etc., then I'd call. Well, I'd probably call anyway but I worry too much.;) |
