Ok I did some research and found a vet who is a member of the AAHA
close to where we live. A neighbor has used him in the past and talked
highly of him. I am so interested in having the Tieter test done and my
vet did not do it. This one does. My question to those of you who
have had their Yorkies tested which of the innoculations do you
prefer to have it done on? Bordella and Lymes are no concern for me
but Parvo and Distemper I would think would be the two to be
concerned about. It that correct? Any info on this matter is greatly
appriciated. I'm still learning.

We do distemper and parvo.
Hepatitis may be doable but Ellie's vet isn't concerned about that one really.

It sounds like switching was a good choice. :)

I am so happy you saw this thread. I really appriciate the info.
I feel bad about switching but I think it's time. This one is very
close to where I live and like I said, does the Tieter test.
If he dosen't need the shots good, if he does well at least I know
he does.

I suppose I should also mention that titers still aren't going to give you a great answer. Ellie has a chronically low distemper titer (twice now) and I know darn well she is protected... It's because you can only see humoral immunity with titers and not cellular immunity, so a low titer doesn't always mean the dog isn't protected. However, a high titer is peace of mind that they are.

I'll leave that up to the vet when the time comes, if it low.
Since he is willing to test and is a member of the AAHA I feel
more confident going here. He'll also know what is contageous
in our area and how many of whatever cases he has seen as
far as parvo etc. We'll see on the 28th.
