When did your yorkies stop growing? Chloe is just at 6 months and just reached 4 lbs! She is so tiny. lol..I love her nomatter what size she is but we did expect her to be about 5 or 6 lbs full grown. I was just wondering when your yorkies pretty much stopped growing. |
She may still not be done...most have growth spurts and tend to "fill out" between 6 - 8 months old. |
she is actually almost 25 weeks old... |

Roman had stopped growing hen he was about 7 or 8 months and then gained another 1lb, 1.5lbs when he was around a year old. His weight goes between 6 and 6.5 now |
Jewels stopped about 7 mos. Chachi had a growth spurt later about 14 mos |
I prayed every month, after six months, that Bud was done because each month he was 1lb larger. He didn't stop until he was 1 yr old and 13lbs. However, between 1 yr and 2yrs old he gained yet another 3lbs. Finally finishing at 16lbs and holding for the last 3yrs. |

some yorkies just refuse to grow, and other yorkies just refuse to stop growing too soon. :D |
Missy took foreverrrr to reach 3 lbs, when she finally did she was stuck there for 2 months! I thought that she had stopped growing, but she just had a growth spurt at 8 months of age. She gained another 6 ozs. I'm hoping for a little bit more :) She is currently 3 lbs 6 ozs and 8 months 1 week old. |
Laya didn't stop growing until around 16 months. She just kept going. She now weighs in at 8.5 lbs. |
Hm, well, I'm sure Jackson is probably not finished growing yet. He's 7 months old and last time I checked weighed in at 13pounds. That was a few weeks ago. He looks a bit bigger now possibly. He grew so fast it seemed like! When I got him at 9 weeks, he couldn't have weighed more than 4 pounds. His 12 week appt. (he was almost 13 weeks) he was 6 pounds. Then at his 16/17 week appt. he was 8.6 pounds! At 6 months, he was 13 and I haven't weighed him since. |
Most of my puppies stop growing at around 6 to 8 months old . |
Mine stopped stretching in height/length probably at around a year old. After that, she just filled in a bit more and hasn't gained any for a few months since. I think she's stopped otherwise, her body might end up a little larger than her head. :p |
Still waiting for that, lol. |
vet visit today. She is now only 4.1 lbs and 7 months. Still so little!! I'm wondering when she will fill out! |
Mine only grew until they were 6 mos, then quit completely |
hahaha! Max is 2 and I'm not sure he's through growing! :D Mia on the other hand was fully grown at about a year old. I really don't know why people think that these guys stop growing before they're a year old. A lot of breeds continue to grow through the age of 2. One thing you can count on is that no 2 Yorkies are the same! hahaha! |
Mines is almost 3 months and 3 pounds:confused: Well almost 4 the vet told me....You guys are making me feel bad. i wonder how big he is going to be??? |
Well, guys, Annabella was 4.2 at 4 1/5 mos and just had 1st bd last month. Now she weighs 8 lbs.... Luca, on the other hand, came from 3-4 lb parents and weighed 4.8 lbs at 13 wks. Now at 8 mos, HE also weighs 8 lbs and is 1" longer and 1" taller than his "sister" (no real relation). I think someone stuck an air hose up his bum and keeps turning the darned thing on every month or so.....LOL I'm an old lady and don't need a Doby to carry around......hehehe. They are a true joy no matter what they weigh... |
I would say Ryle stopped growing at about 8 to 9 months old,he is now a whoppping 4lbs. at 14 months, I don't think he will be getting any bigger unless DH doesn't stop giving him so many treats:rolleyes:. Fancie Pants is 5 1/2 mths.old and she weighted 2.9lbs. today at her vet visit, I am sure she will be getting a bit bigger. |
