Anyone use "Dental Fresh" by Synergy Labs? One of the girls at the grain store highly recommended this...said they'd been selling it for years and customers were thrilled with it. Bottle says: 1) Protects teeth & gums 2) Eliminates bad breath 3) Brightens & whitens teeth 4) Proven to remove built-up tartar & plaque 5) Regular use helps ensure pets' optimal oral health 6) Makes professional cleaning faster, easier & gentler Directions: Use daily for maximum effectiveness. Add one teaspoon of Dental Fresh for every 8 oz. of water in water bowl, or follow your vet's directions. Active ingredient: Stabilized Chlorine Dioxide...............0.1% Petco says it contains in total: Purified deionized water, stabilized chlorine dioxide, sodium benzoate, and organically derived chlorophyll. So, to make a long post longer...I bought it. Does anyone here use it and like it? Zoey doesn't have bad breath, but my tooth brush training is going slowly and I want her teeth to remain as sparkly as they are today. |
i use to use cool and clear, but now they have a replacement. i got it at pnp nutritions procuts. it dental care for dogs.. i use it the same way, not sure if its the same product. dont k now the name of it though hmmm |
I'm very interested to know how this works! I know I've posted this like 5,000,000 times already, but Thor had to go under for a teeth cleaning just a few months ago and I canNOT believe how much plaque he has already! If people say this works, I will definitely buy it. |

Since I just bought it today, all I can tell you is that Zo drank her water, with it in there, without any objection. A good start, at least. ;) The thing is, she's young (15 months) and her teeth are great. I just want to keep them that way. My poor little Phoebe had only 3 teeth left at 17-1/2 and I sure don't want that to happen to Zoey. |
Hi! I was drawn to your post because our 7 year old just had all her incisors removed (7) and 8 in the back! We were devestated and I was so mad at myself. I use the dental spray, but our Vet just recently recommeded a full cleaning (upset with her too!) Do you think this really works. We have a new baby Butler in the photo! I'd like to start it immed. whats the name?????? |

Anyway, I'll be taking Zoey to the vet's soon and will ask him what he thinks. I'll post back with what he says. |
I got some for Thor... probably won't be here for another three weeks. |
The thing is...it's just hard for me to believe something in the water is going to do all that much, you know? Still, as long as my vet assures me there's no harm in it, and maybe some benefit... My Phoebe managed ok with most of her teeth gone, but life would sure have been easier for her with them. She'd had a few cleanings, but certainly not every year. I am totally paranoid about anesthetics and such small dogs. She was only 6 and sometimes 6-1/2 lbs. To my everlasting shame, I didn't stick with brushing her teeth. She had a large mouth compared to Zoey, too...it wouldn't have been that difficult. :( I've vowed not to let that happen to little Zo, if it's humanly possible to prevent it. |
I wonder too, but on the other hand, they put flouride in the water for people, and that has made a tremendous difference. So you never know. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. |
Well. We went to the vet's yesterday. I have a lot of faith in him...been going there for over 30 years. He's a thoughtful and cautious man. Anyway, he said pretty much what I feared. He said the only thing that did any real good was brushing...and that even brushing couldn't totally conquer genetics. He did say he saw no harm in it, and that it would probably benefit her breath. :( :( :( |
