Zada's having problems with an old surgery. Zada had both knees reparted June 22, 06 and now won't put the left leg down at all. She goes in to see the Vet. this afternoon, but it isn't the one who did the surgery. He retired and moved to another state. The new Vet. doesn't do this type of surgery, but I hope she can tell what the problem is and can get Dr. Wright from Ventura to come in to do it if required. Has anyone else ever had the luxating patella surgery that didn't hold up? I'm so worried now. That tiny pin that was put in her knee is now a part of the bone and can't be removed. Now what? |
Poor baby. Maybe she just twisted or sprained her knee playing and it's not the past surgery at all. I hope not. Going threw that once is enough. Hope all goes well at the vet's. Good luck, |
X-Rays were taken and first, she has arthritis in the left knee but she has something on her pelvic bone that stumped the Vet. so she's going to let the surgeon look at them. I'll know by the end of this week. I got Zada when she was 14 weeks old, and she's never had an injury since I've had her. She's never been kenneled or left with anyone. She isn't even allowed outside unless me or my husband are with her, Azrael and Razael. It's such a mystery, and I'm starting to get concerned. |

I see no reason to post the latest on Zada from the surgeon she saw yesterday evening, especially since it will only sit in the wings and not get on the board. |
Sometimes the LP surgery doesn't turn out quite right. But maybe it is arthritis. How old is she? Is she on glucosamine? |

Well I for one would like to know Zada's diagnosis that's why I'm looking. I do hope things will be alright for her. |
I want to know the results as well  Roxy had bi-lateral LP surgery in August 06 - They only deepened the groves. At 6 weeks, one of her legs was luxating again, so she had to have surgery (cut & pin) a few months after that, the pin migrated and had to be removed. A few months later, her other leg started to luxate again. We were going to have a 3rd surgery to repair it, but she had reoccurring staph infections and we just found out she had liver issues, so I put it off. She is on Cosiquin daily and I don't see any issues with the leg. I am afraid to put her under again, so I hope we can manage it this way. So I am very curious as to what is going on with Zada? Could her pin have migrated way back when and fuzed to a different part of her bone  Please update us :( |
