Mandie gets spayed tomorrow.... Mandie goes into the vets tomorrow at 8:30. I am so nervous.... She has to have baby teeth removed but they didn't tell me how many. I know I have to stay calm so she doesn't stress out but thats not easy. I hope everything goes well and she heals quickly because she is such a get up and go dog.. she isn't one to lay around, she likes to Play!! |
Aww...try not to worry to much, she will be fine! Just keep yourself busy tomorrow! Keep us posted on how she does! Good luck and have a speedy recovery Mandie!! |
I have class tomorrow so hopefully that will keep my mind off of it.. |
Lexi was spayed on Thursday, and today you would never know it! Keep her from running and jumping the vet said. Yea right! She also had two teeth pulled and is eating kibble already! I was nervous to. Several options they had at the vet. The pre surgery blood work and an IV for fluids. I choose both options, it seemed funny they were even options. But check with your vet. I think the IV fluids helps greatly in the recovery process. Also she had a pain med that day and both friday and saturday. Every thing will be fine! |
Aww. Try not to stress out too much. I know its super hard not to, I was the same way when Tila got spayed last week. Everything will be fine, just hang in there. :) |
Good luck! I was in the SAME position with Jackson's neuter 5 days ago so I know how nervous you are. Everything will be fine. :) |
Missy was just spayed 2 weeks ago too. Everythng will be *just* fine. You are doing the right thing by trying to stay calm for her. Sending prayers and positive thoughts for a speedy recovery :) |
It'll be just fine! I was a nervous wreck the day Zoe got spayed as well. I had class that day, I'd hoped it'd keep me distracted. I was so focused on it though it didn't distract me. But in the end, it was all for naught .... Zoe got out of surgery just fine and eventually adjusted just fine. The first night she was just sleepy, the next day she was in pain before she got her meds and then believe it or not by the 2nd day she was 100%! If Mandie is anything like Zoe the hardest part will be keeping her calm and not hurting herself while she needs to recoup! Zoe just wanted to run around, climb stairs, jump, etc. Our thoughts will be with you though! |
Well the surgery went well!!!!! I picked her up around 4pm yesterday. When I brought her home it hurt her to sit or lay down, so she just would stand up and start to fall asleep standing. Poor thing. Called the vet and said that it was normal and there was nothing they could give her. She had quite a few teeth pulled. The vet said her canine teeth had very long roots, so eating has been difficult for her. So far today, its a little easier for her to lay down, but she has to think about it a couple times, and with a little help she will lay down. Did get her to eat a couple of bites of her wet dog food this morning, so that was good. I'll let you know how it goes.... |
What pain med is she on? |

No they didn't give her pain meds yesterday. I thought that was CRAZY! Had to take her back out today and he did give her rimadyl so hopefully that helps some. I came home from school today and she was a completely different dog than when I left. Her tail was wagging and she was just a happy little thing. So I think she is starting to feel better and the med that they gave me today should help for the pain.... |

Poor baby. |
Well little miss Mandie seems to be doing much better today. Last night I let her sleep up on my bed again and put a little baby onsie on her so she wouldn't lick the stiches. She is back to wanting to run around and get her toys, but I am making her stay beside me because its too soon for her to be playing hard. |
Aw, yay! I'm so happy she's feeling better! |
