Anyone know I've read about Nutri Cal in addition to a nice healthy puppy chow and when I inquired about it at the pet food store the lady said they were out of puppy nutri cal but I could use cat as well, it was the same thing and that infact it had used to be the same, they just started packaging it seperately. Is that the truth? I will drive to the next towns pet shop to get the specific dog formula if need be but if it is ok to use either or, I'll save the gas and buy locally. |
I'm not sure if they are the same or not. I used Karo's syrup. I only had to use it once. My furbabies didn't have a problem with hypoglycemia. My baby girl did once, the syrup worked fine. It's usually a problem if they are not eating. I bought the same food the breeder had so they would eat with no problems. Good luck!:p |
The product we use is called Nutri-Stat not sure if that is what you mean but it is to prevent hypoglycemia. Karo works well to if you dont have the Nutri-Stat on hand. :doghouse:Charlene:Pawprint:Mama to Laddy:Pawprint::doghouse: |
Welcome and Congrats on your new addition!! Would love to see pictures when you can get them posted. I would be hesitant to use anything not made especially for puppies. If they are out and there isn't another pet store to shop at, then like bcrass2 said Karo syrup will work just fine until they get some in. |

you really don't need the nutri-cal. just have karo syrup on hand if needed. Nutri-cal is not a supplement and shouldn't be used as one. Its basically sugar in a tube and if given every day can mess with their appetites. It should only be given if you think your puppy is having a hypoglycemic episode |
I use honey... |
