Teething.. I was just curious about what age does a puppy start teething and losing teeth? My Joey is now 5 months old and he hardly ever bites and now he has started bitting A LOT more. I try and hand him a toy as soon as he starts it.. any other good suggestions? thanks so much! |
Jackson stated losing some teeth around 4 1/2 months old, I believe. Totally normal! :) Hm, I've heard you can freeze things just like real babies. They have dog teething rings and toys in Petsmart, etc. Bully sticks are good for their teeth and health, 100% digestible! Kong brand toys have puppy teething things! |
Puppy Teething Our Adrianne is 5 months old on Monday... she's been biting since the day we got her!! She just started losing her teeth about two weeks ago, so I'm really hoping it eases up when they all fall out! She bites when you're playing with toys and she runs after you and bites your toes when you're trying to walk. Really annoying... good thing she's so cute!:D |
I don't think he has lost any teeth yet. A few feel a little lose! He has a little teething ring type treat thing.... he doesn't understand it. He loves soft toys more than hard ones. He is very picky I guess :P I will try freezing some of them. He has played with an ice cube once so hopefully he will enjoy this! Thanks! |
Zeus is days away from being 5 months old and I noticed his first loose tooth the other day. He wants to gnaw on our hands constantly! |
The other toy Adrianne really seems to love now that she didn't show much interest in before are the rope toys. She sits and chews on that forever and actually falls asleep doing it, so it must be soothing. |
lol we JUST got him a new stronger rope toy last night. he was SO excited bouncing around everywhere! :D so good maybe that will help! thanks for all the input! :D |

We cut up a terry washcloths into 2 strips and ran them under water then twisted them and put rubber bands on them before placing them in the freezer. When they were frozen we took the rubber bands off and gave them to the puppies to chew on. We kept rotating them so we always had a cold one ready. Also they are washable and reusable. Our female was a biter too, she was so bad that she actually broke skin on both of us several times. We tried everything to stop the behavior, but she got more aggressive. In hind sight we should have had her in a puppy class but at least she has learned that she can't bite, but she still does snap. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Hope someone else has some suggestions! |
great! thanks so much, I will have to try the wash cloth in the freezer! and yeah joey goes after feet too :( he is rotten!!! |
