chloe' is scooting .. It seems like she is constipated and she doesn't want to be by her self so I have her on my lap siting on a puppy pad.. what should I do to make her have a bowel movement .. she cries and jumps on my leg when i put her down and scoots her bottom on the carpet .. |
Does she have poop stuck on her bottom or any fecal matter blocking her butt...another possiblity...her anal glands need expressing. Usually these are emptied when they have a bowel movement...but sometimes not. |
green beans help charlie and his scooting problem. |
take her to the vet or call hope she gets better |
Conner scoots and wants to be alone when his glands are full. I now take him to the vet every other month to get them expressed because I have made 2 very expensive trips to the emergency hospital with him. |
chester has the anal gland thing to as well, they will scoot and bit at their butt, foods higher in fiber will help, more fiber, bigger poo and they will express better, green beans, canned pumpkin no sugar in it will help. The vet does the internal glands the groomer only do the external |
Her anal glands need to be expressed. Here's a good site w/lots of info: Anal Sacs If it's impacted & it doesn't come out when squeezed, it would be safer to go to the vet & have it expressed internally. |
I agree with others that she needs her anal glands expressed. We have used Libby's canned 100% Pure Pumpkin, (be sure not to give the Pumpkin Pie Filling it must be 100% Pure Pumpkin) or Metamucil is also very good. Both are good for plugging up and letting loose. ;) Good Luck! |
Thank goodness my groomer does this for Nolee! I didn't know the vet would do it also, dah! Did you check into expressing Chloe's glands? Is Chloe better? I hope so. Good luck! |
