Otis is Part Cow....moo! Otis is not accustomed to being on the grass, but we went on a picnic recently and he couldn't get enough of it! He kept eating it and licking it. He did this the entire time we were at the park. I kept telling him to stop because I didn't want him to get sick, but is that much grass okay? When we got home, he had all this grass still in his mouth, like a little farmer boy. |
He'll be fine. Did he have a tummy ache? They will eat grass to get rid of worms and when they have a tummy ache. If he ate alot, he may throw up some grass but don't worry. It is totally fine. |
Cute! Grass is ok I think -- as long as its not treated w/ fertilizer or anything like that. We have a little patch of grass that we like to call our yard and when it need to be cut, Stewie goes to town eating as much as he can ;) I heard they do it when they have an upset stomach, but in Otis' case, he probably was just so excited to see some that he had to eat it. :D |
At least he didn't want to smoke it... No, he didn't have a tummy ache to my knowledge, just a whole bunch of blades stuck in his teeth. But that park is pretty public and I felt kinda grossed out because other dogs pee and stuff there. Maybe even humans too. |
Oh, c'mon Junebug. I'm sure Otis has eaten poo before, but you still let him lick or kiss you... :D I think it should be okay unless it's treated with something. That's probably the scariest bit, public parks should be safer than private lawns, at least one would hope so... |
[QUOTE=Junebug]At least he didn't want to smoke it... LOL!!!! :D |
That's so cute - little lawn mower dude Otis - My girls will chew on some blades here and there and so far so good - that was so cute - I can just picture his little face with grass sticking out of the corner of his mouth |
You can mince up romaine lettuce in a blender with some water and add a spoonful to his food if he's having a hankerin' for greens. Or pour the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze for a treat if he likes ice cubes. Safer than unknown grass and won't cause vomiting....also impossible to smoke. |
